Dutch Championships short course, day 3

The last heavy event of this year: 1500m freestyle short course.

That's how you may call it, because it isn't easy ! The advantage of this event is that this distance is the last one of the morning, so I could sleep a bit longer. Not finding a parking space in Amsterdam is the big disadvantage.

Lucky for me I had time to see the other club members doing their job an to prepare myself for the 1500m battle.
Nice strokes, stable race.
Also this time the start went perfect and I could make a steady tempo, not the way I'm used to, but good enough. Patrick, my coach, signed me during the race that my times were stable and flat. It didn't felt that way, I didn't have a clue what my times were ! After 800m I had a difficulty to keep the times flat and I had to push myself. Towards the end it went better and I finished in a time of 17.20,72. Again 20 sec. faster then the last time, but still 10 sec. above my PB time. In 2009 we will push harder to "sharpen" the times !
