I am very pleased to join the Top team  of this new ambitious swim academy. For me it means better changes to prepare myself for the national championships, the European and World championships for the deaf and off course the Deaflympics.

Chairman and co-founder Marcel Verkijk says “We have succeeded to concentrate all knowledge and skills here at the region Haaglanden and South Holland to give the ambitious swimmers a change to get the maximum out of thereselfs,  without leaving the region and to travel to the Regional Training Centre at Amsterdam, Eindhoven or Drachten”.

Clothing sponsor for this season is Sportemotion (Barendrecht), they will facilitate all teams with exclusive (swim)clothing. Sportemotion is not unknown in the swim world, they contribute to my participation at the European Championships Swimming 2006 at Thessaloniki (Greece). During the season a medical team is standing by with there expertise. This medical support takes place at Summit Health (De Lier), also the place for fitness and clinics for the teams.

CEO Summit Health and co-founder Theo Nass is a big fan of professional medical support. Nass:”It's all about young swimmers here, which have to deal with huge achievements and push there bodies to the limits. Therfore a intensive medical support is essential to keep everything safe and in good shape. Topsport asks for individual support. Testing and measuring is very important to get a level at the start, to make a good practice schedule and to monitor and evaluate.”

MAXX Swim academy will be co-operating with the involved swimclubs from the regions Haaglanden and South Holland North, also the KNZB and the Regional Support Talent & Topsport Den Haag are involved. The purpose of it all is to deliver each year 30% of the swimmers from the Top Team to the National Swimminginstitutes at Amsterdam and Eindhoven.
