Bernafon Move

Until now I was very pleased with my hearing aids from Phonak, but another hearing solutions manufacturer (Bernafon) already wanted to support me for a long time ago and asked me to try their devices. Replacing hearing aids isn't something easy, it just a lot of red tape the medical assurance company. After my medical hearing check at The Hague I went with the new advice to my audicien Dijkshoorn at Maassluis.

They, together with CEO Frans Story from Bernafon Netherlands, choose for me the "Move" hearing aids of Bernafon. Off course there is a try period, you have to get used to a new sound and possibilities. I have to say that in the beginning I couldn't appriciate the new sound, it seems t be a lot softer and less natural. After a few weeks I had an appointment to check again my hearing (aids) and to test their performance. The test showed that they were good but the high sounds had to be amplified more. With this new data a I went to the shop again and to my surprise Frans Story was present at the shop, he was on a promo-tour for Bernafon. He wanted to fine-tune my devices himself.

Maybe not everybody knows that today almost all hearing solutions are digital, you can say that they are small computers. After connecting a special cable Frans could download the data and could see what I have doen with my new devices. If there are people who still think to have some privacy I can tell: "Dream on ! ".

After playing a while with the possibilities the new settings were uploaded to the devices. What a differencel, the sound was much clearer, natural and pure! Music sounded again as music to my ears and I noticed that I hear much more sounds then ever before. After a few weeks hearing with the new settings, I was today again for the check in The Hague todo some tests again. I was curious if the fine-tuning paid off. The doctor was very happy with the performance of the devices and their new setitngs, after that there was another very important test for me, repeating words. The purpose of it all is to repeat the words coming out of a loudspeaker at a certain volume, the test is repeated several times at different volumes. Every word I don't know or hear is noted and tells you something about the accuracy of the hearing aid. The end result was loud and clear, with the Bernafon Move hearing aids I scored 10..15% better in this test then the years before !
