PSV Limit event, Eindhoven

On time I reported myself early in the afternoon at the National Swimming Institute "De Tongelreep" at Eindhoven, home of the Eiffel Swimmers/PSV. After that we were allowed to practice, not at the main pool but in the so called "tower pool". In the meantime the technicians of Omega prepared the electronic timekeeping and lucky for me also the well known orange flashlight for the deaf-start.

I was very curious about my swimming today, last week was very heavy because of the Maxx Swim Academy practice-week at Katwijk. I've made a lot of miles that week and those miles I'm still feeling ! Beside that the event at Ridderkerk early October wasn't that good and you want allways perform better, isn't it?

Backstroke went fine !

Three of the four parts of the ind. medley weren't so bad, but the breaststroke is still a problem. Because of my injury of last year I hardly practiced the breaststroke and I stil have some light pain during the breaststroke that doesn't help me either. Despite everything I finished in 2.18,46 and that's only 0,9 sec. above my time.

Despite the slow reaction it was a good start.

I looked forward to the 400m freestyle, I had to revanche myself after the bad result a few weeks ago. The start was good, something I had practiced a lot lately, despite being last gone at the starting block. The rithym was very consistent and the turning points went smooth but the overall speed wasn't good enough to improve my personal best time. I lost nearly 7 sec. and finished in 4.20,86, a lot faster and not so tired as the last time !
