The flew is ruling in Holland and and I am also touched by it.
That's the conclusion that I draw today during the Eiffel Swimmers PSV Limit event at the "Pieter van den Hoogenband" swimming stadium at Eindhoven. The last 10 days I was feeling cold, nose dripping and coughed a lot. I suppose I had to cancel the event but I wanted to swim the 400m freestyle.
Eye contact with the referree before the deaf start.
Only my dripping nose was still there but the rest of the cold was gone so I didn't foresee to much problems during this event. After the warming up I wasn't to sure about it anymore, it didn't felt so good.
Excellent start !
I started my 400m freestyle pretty good, a excellent start (lot's of practice lately), and a good first 50m splittime. But after 150m my power and speed fainted a little. My finish time wasn't a big surprise: 4.28,16, more then 6 sec. above my PB. time. I noticed that lot's of other swimmers had similar problems, almost everybody swam above his or her time.
Time not a big surprise...
After this I had to swim another short distance, the 50m freestyle. Normally I dont' swim such a short distance but I was curious what for time I still could swim. It surprised me that despite the bad feeling I had after the finish that I my time was 27,22, while my best time ever is 27,04 ! Hopefully I get rid of my cold and continue the upgoing line I had before this illness.
